In winter, Lal Chowk is the vibrant center of Srinagar, and a great place to visit. The beauty of Lal Chowk, awash in snow, and the vibrancy of the markets full of Pashmina shawls, handmade Kashmiri carpets, dry fruits, saffron, and traditional jewelry is a must.  Most of the shops open at 10:00 AM and close around 7:00 PM.

Timing: Shikara rides are mostly done in between 8:00 AM to 6.00 PM, but in winter, timings of 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM are best (as these times will be warm and visibility also better).
